Clan Denny – Vatted Malt (Islay) – August 27th, 2010

Brother Rod with his great wisdom, selected Clan Denny Vatted (Islay) Malt. It proved to be an enormous whisky, despite how light it looked initially. Deceivingly delicious. Douglas Laing & C0. put out this beauty at a seriously smooth 46%. The vatting includes whisky from Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain, and Caol Ila. Certainly some of the heavy weights in the game, and the vatting proved to be something special. Much what you would expect from a marriage of Islay giants, is the peaty, earthy, smoky, salty, slap in your mouth, but with a playful balance of sweet vanilla and heather. We loved it. A must try. $93.46 from the good people at the BC Liquor monopoly.
