On the road trip from Victoria to Barrie, I made a stop in one of my favourite Whiskey Towns,  Missoula Montana. I had hoped to make it to Grizzly Liquor (a place Brother Al and I had stopped on our motorcycle trip chasing the elusive George T. Stagg) but alas it was closed.  I ended at a Gas Station/Liquor store (I will try to link later) that lifted my spirits.  I asked the gentlemen running the store to name a few Bourbons that he would take if he had the choice. 1792 was his top choice, and after tasting it, I understand why.  This bottling became an instant hit, and resulted in a number of bottles being purchased by members of Upper Canada. If available at the LCBO, it will be in the vintages section; however, it has been out of stock since shortly after our meeting. Brother Andy and I cleaned up on this one.

The Toast of Kentucky™, 1792 Ridgemont Reserve is a distinctively smooth, handcrafted small-batch bourbon, patiently aged 8 years in new charred oak barrels in Bardstown, Kentucky. This 93.7 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was named for the year Kentucky became a state. Rich and velvety, it’s the perfect bourbon for toasting any special occasion – in fact, it’s the Official Toasting Bourbon of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival™.
